  • Where Are Those Darn Keys.

The Carvers had a 24th of July BBQ party.  It was a BYOMeat really, really fun.  We had fireworks and drinks just a great evening.  At the beginning Christy got nervous about some illness that one of the kids had there, so she had to go home and look up information.  No big deal.  So […]

  • Habby Vinegar

This is a toughy: One bottle of white wine vinegar. I choose a bottle that I liked. 3-4 Habanero peppers Bring the vinegar to a boil put peppers into the bottle. Pour the vinegar back into the bottle. Let sit and age. Has a real good heat without the harsh vinegar bite.

  • I’m a Genius

My son told me so last night.  We were trying to figure out dinner; I finally got sick of the waiting, talking, and discussing.  So I went to KFC and came back with a bucket.  Logan saw it and his eyes got huge as he yelled “Dad! you’re a genius! What a great idea for […]

  • Mowing the Lawn

An exercise in agony.  I tried to mow the lawn last night, and it dang near put me in an ambulance.  Our neighbor had said that she would send her boys over to do it, but I didn’t want them to have to clean up my mess.  Between the gate and the vacation it hasn’t […]

  • What’s So Glorious About Morning Anyway?

I hate morning glory. My lawn is completely infested with that horrible (and tough as nails) weed. Right now it is the only thing in my backyard that is green. I have been told by our gardener at work that I need to hit it once a week with 24-D for the rest of the […]

  • Die Bugs Die

Or at least that is the theory. I bought some grub control today 25 bucks for a bag of the stuff. I hope it works. I also found that the cottonwood tree at the very back of the yard is actually dying. The Bark is split, badly, on the main branch. have thought all along […]

  • Worst Drive Ever

That horrible desolate “well-maintained” (please note the dripping sarcasm) stretch from Gallup to Cortez. We were only on it for an hour from Farmington to Cortez, but it still was way to long. The day started off with me and Logan going and washing the EDV to remove all the white “sands”. As we came […]

  • White Sands My Butt!

Try White cement. There are two things (probably more, but for the sake of the story) about the Las Cruces are that everyone knows about White Sands Missile Range where the first Atomic weapon was detonated and White Sands National Park where they try to pass concrete off as sand. This post deals with the […]

  • EL Pinto and the Temple

Today we left Cruces for Albuquerque. It was an ok drive the road was not to bumpy and the EDV rides pretty smooth, so the ribs weren’t as bad as they could have been. The temple was quite nice some of Nolan’s family was there; his brothers David and Charles and sister Diane along with […]

  • Horses, Cable Rides, and BOOM

Happy 4TH of July, as we celebrate this time please take time to remember and pray for those in harms way defending our way of life. Our 4th started with me getting up and helping Nolan finish the path to his lawn shed. They have a very, very nice backyard. I was very jealous; I […]
